Hey buddy,

I am so proud of you for completing your first year of school. With all of the distractions in 2020 you stayed focussed and completed your first year of school (Pre-K). This year you learned a lot in Ms. Cindy's class. You met new friends and indulged in great adventures. For that my little guy you are a scholar.

This year you learned how to write your name. You learned how to hold the pencil, exercise patience and carefully write your letters and numbers. This is the beginning of the many great things you will write. Your little hands have so much potential and some day you will look back on this letter and it will all make sense. What you learned this year will follow you for the rest of your life.

As I watched you grow over the past several months I noticed a few key things that you learned.

  1. You learned how to persevere. When things got tough you learned how to push through it and succeed.
  2. You learned how to use kindness and forgiveness even when the circumstances warranted retaliation.
  3. You accepted new challenges and pushed through fears. For example you tried baseball for the first time and discovered that not only are you good at it but you love it.

These are just a few of many examples of how you've grown in such a short amount of time.

Isaiah, you can accomplish anything you set your mind and heart to. You are a conqueror and there is nothing in your path that you cannot overcome. I look forward to your next journey in kindergarten. I know that you will enjoy your time next year at the Leman Academy School of Excellence.

This summer you will have a chance to relax, wind down and enjoy a nice long break. We will work on numbers, writing and skills that will help you succeed next year. But most importantly we will be sure to have fun and enjoy a break. You worked hard this year and you deserve to have some time to simply enjoy life around you. I cannot wait to enjoy this summer together and I am eager to see what you will accomplish next year.

~ Love Dad
