For the past few weeks our father has been tugging on my heart to focus on moments of kairos. He revealed to me during prayer a prayer that will remind me each day of the things I should ask of him to fulfill this season.
Father,
fill my heart with agape in such a way that my decisions and actions are fruitful and manifest kairos in everything I do.
- Amen
I’ve began to pray this prayer daily starting this week and I am excited about the season I have entered.
Kairos is a Greek word meaning opportune moment, right now or in this very moment. It represents the meaning of taking immediate action or moving with a sense of urgency. And it is especially relevant in the context of kingdom work. One does not procrastinate when they understand Kairos.
How Jesus utilized his time is a perfect example of the definition of Kairos. Jesus moved with a sense of urgency often staying at prayer and healing sessions until the last person remained. This is the way we should live our lives. We should be intentional about the moments we spend with our family and the actions we take when we are serving others.
Going forward I will challenge myself to live life with a Kairos mindset, intentionality in the urgencies of the moment and with a heart of agape. The opportunity to serve is a blessing and it is only through this lens are we able to experience the will and goodness of our father and all the glory he intended for us.
